Adrian is the first child of Karsten and Melanie, raised in small Greenwich Village apartments, Variety reported. Melanie, in Manhattan, introduced him and his siblings to film and theater, even on a budget.

Despite financial constraints, Melanie exposed them to Broadway plays through the half-price ticket line. Scarlett recalled, “We’d line up and then go see a show.”

Melanie's unconventional approach included showing them age-inappropriate films like Silence of the Lambs when Adrian was 7. Scarlett remembered being haunted by Schindler's List at 9.

Vanessa Johansson

Scarlett has an older sister, Vanessa, who's also an actress. They first appeared together in the 1996 film Manny & Lo, where Scarlett had the leading role as Amanda.
